    anyone hearing the “doctrines of grace” as “the gospel” can only presume that they apply to them in a positive way, that is, that they are one of the unconditionally elect. They could never know that they are among the unconditionally elect...you either know you are saved because you believe in what Christ has done on your behalf in his death on the cross or you believe you are elect because your personal experience allows you to presume so. Apostle Paul is a liar. His words are all lies. He said the word of God is immutable. How? Where? The mathematical word 2+2 = 4 is more sure and immutable word. 2+2 = 4 is so in China, UK, Africa, India and even in space. Show me one word of God that is as sure. God is a liar and a an idiot. I've tested this and found it to be true.

    Calvinist are a bunch of heretics believing in predestination and unlimited security…one CAN lose their salvation by walking away from God…if a person loses their faith a long the way and go apostate they’ll most likely lose their salvation that’s what Paul was talking about. We need to be careful who we listen to..

    Philipians 1.29 does indeed say granted.. or in other translations 'made available' but that doesn't have to mean forced, which is how these men perceive and promote it.. it was granted, made available, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be refused or rejected. Philipians 1.29 29 For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him, Granted, made possible, provided, given, made available.. to you (us) on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him (he finished the work and made it possible that you can believe in him) Yes.. faith is a gift.. but not a forced gift or it ceases to be a gift.. a gift has to be received These guys rarely come out and say it.. they use a softer more palatable (and pleasing to them) tone that sounds nicer.. but the truth is they believe God soverignly elected some to be saved, and the rest to not be saved & not be able to respond to the gospel, to not have a saviour period..as Jesus only died for the elect.. if your not one of tge elect, hard cheese, Christ didnt die for you.. in calvinism he's such a,wonderful merciful deity that they will still be held to acct & punished for the sin they couldn't not commit with no hope of a saviour.. doomed from the womb.. nothing to do with Satan, all Gods soverign choice, decision.. and doing

    Lawson's quote at the end is confusing to me. "Summarize your life in one word apart from Christ. It would have to be grace." I guess there's grace for all of us, in a sense, apart from Christ, but I'm not sure that's how I would summarize my life apart from Jesus. Am I missing something?

  • @PhysicsTom2004

    Wow, what circular logic, word soup and how confusing?! "What must I do to be saved?" (the most illuminating question in the Bible) "BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved" (Acts 16:30 to 31) Sorry Mr Lawson, but you can't argue against this verse But the usual sleight of Calvinist hand is to quote various verses OUT OF CONTEXT, and no so-called 'Bible' (per-) version reference, I suspect from the usual corrupt ESV/NIV/NKJV? Yours was an extremely poor attempt "grammatically speaking" to counter Ephesians 2:8 I notice you didn't refer to verse 9 of course “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” What is not of works? It's slightly obvious that faith is not of works! (Please read the 15 verses in 7 Chapters where these 2 words are in the same verse, e.g. "Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith." (Romans 3:27)) Please note that salvation (as in 'are ye saved') is not of works Also, I have yet to meet a Calvinist who can argue against 1 John 2:2 with their heretical, disgusting doctrine of Limited Atonement in their false TULIP doctrinal beliefs (“And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” (in context, talking about the Lord Jesus Christ of course)) By this alone, you have "another Jesus" and "another Gospel" as warned by Paul in 2 Corinthians 11:4 "For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him." In other videos your ilk (e.g. John Piper) have argued even against it being "our faith" Please note that the term "thy faith" occurs 9 times in the New Testament, all spoken BY our Lord Jesus Christ TO the person concerned, in the synoptic Gospels and 'faith/belief/trust' occurs 103 times in the Gospel of John Finally, I will trust in the words of our Saviour alone especially and so clearly given in John 6:47 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” Please read THE Bible, the perfect inerrant word of God, turn from your evil doctrines and humble yourself "...God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” (James 4:6)

    The main issue is do all of us have a personal relationship with Jehovah the true God of the heavens. Do You have a appreciation for spiritual things and appreciation for Jesus Christ ranson leading to ever lasting life. If God used him so be it, but it's not about MLK ,IT'S ABOUT THE HEART CONDITION OF A MAN THAT'S NEED TO CHANGING. The bible is very clear on its teachings, the question is will you follow GOD TEACHING FROM THE HOLY SCRIPTURES OR WILL YOU FOLLOW MAN.

    Hey everyone, I hope you all are doing well. I was wondering if you guys can help me out. I was asked the other day why Protestants do not include the Apocrypha in our Bible. I heard a couple people say “the Jews do not accept it so we shouldn’t” and “it goes against what the rest of the Bible teaches.” I still don’t know why we don’t include the apocrypha if it’s included in the Septuagint text and that was what Jesus apparently read. It seems like if Jesus saw this text and it was not suppose to be with the rest of scripture, he would have said that. Thanks for any help. This question really got me and I don’t know how to answer it.

    While believing these truths since the 1980's, I've been refreshed lately becoming aware of the impact of trusting God's sovereignty. It makes the yoke easy, the burden light, and the anxieties dissipate. He will always do what is holy, what is loving, what is glorifying to Himself and that is always wondrous for the believer, and terrifying for the mocker. Praise His Holy Name Forever.

    The cessationist position would be more respectable if they were just honest. For instance, if they were to assert, "We affirm the Word of God when it describes speaking in tongues, prophecy, healing (physical, or freed from demons), etc; however, we do not practice those portions of Scripture that discuss these truths because we do not feel comfortable or equipped in doing so, and it is too controversial due to the charismatic abuses." This would show humility, and their position would be better understood and respected. However, most, if not all, cessationists take the theologically arrogant route in trying to justify their position by twisting texts to support their position, which creates confusion and division. Likewise, as continuationists, we have to be biblical accurate. We know Paul had an eye ailment, a thorn in his side sent from Satan, Timothy had stomach problems, other believers had sicknesses, and some even died from taking communion in an unworthy manner! However, although this testimony from Scripture is true, it MUST be balanced out with the commands and testimonies from Scripture TO engage in the above gifts. In short, engaging in the gifts did not always promise healing with the apostles and the early church. What makes us think it would occur every single time in our day? However, this does not negate the explicit commands to practice healing, deliverance, prophecy, and tongues. In my view, engaging in these gifts can display humility and reliance upon God, which may bring forth healing, deliverance, and encouragement (prophecy & tongues) that could strengthen that local body.

      So ... the cessationist position would be more acceptable if it was different than it is?

    • @No1believer
      @No1believer 14 годин тому

      @@mikedspringstead5974 Not acceptable but respected. In simple terms, if they were to admit they do not practice the gifts simply because they do not believe in them OR do not feel equipped to practice, but they do not find fault with those who do, they would be more respected, albeit still wrong. However, they not only do not believe in the gifts, but they have built an entire doctrine (that affects missiology and ecclesiology) to suggest that if you do practice them, it's not legitimate. In short, you are in error (or sin) if you pursue the gifts (as Scripture commands). This is absurd on many levels, and I can't believe I used to believe this foolishness for many years.

    While I would agree that charismatic abuses are indeed a problem, cessationism swings the pendulum too far in the opposite direction. It opens the door for abuse, albeit in a different manner. For example, if you attend a cessationist church but are a continuationist in your theology and were to attempt to practice the gifts in that setting, whether it be healing (praying for healing, casting out demons), word of knowledge/wisdom (1 Cor. 12:8), it would be viewed, at best, with skepticism, and/or worse, contempt. Moreover, I know some cessationist churches that will not allow you to join their church (as a believer) if you are continuationist in your theology. This is patently absurd. This measure of abuse is rarely talked about because it is more subtle (and would appear to be harmless) but is just as destructive as the sensational abuses that manifest on the charismatic side. Nevertheless, my thesis is to beware of falling into a ditch on both sides, whether it is Charismatic continuationism or Calvinistic cessationism.

    • @andreadilorenzo_
      @andreadilorenzo_ 3 дні тому

      That is correct that at cessationist churches members/visitors are not supported in practicing the sign gifts among the congregation - what a distraction that would be. That is not called spiritual abuse, that is called protecting the flock. Praise God!

    • @No1believer
      @No1believer 3 дні тому

      @@andreadilorenzo_ You just validated my point. I suppose Jesus, the twelve, and the early church were not protecting the flock? Indeed, Paul certainly wasn't protecting the flock because he encouraged the Corinthians to engage in the gifts, albeit on the foundation of love. Your "protecting the flock" assertion implies that anyone who attempts to practice the gifts is not only in error but is juxtaposed to being a "wolf" that would "ravish" the sheep and is perceived as a threat. If this is not a form of abuse, I do not know what is?
